Lik Lik Lowlines is a stud located 15-20 minutes south west of Toowoomba, Queensland. We take our name, Lik Lik (pronounced Lick Lick) from the pidgin for "small". . Our aim is to breed both commercial and pure bred Lowline cattle as well as the small acre farmer. Lik Lik Lowlines joined the Australian Lowline Cattle Association (ALCA) in July, 2003 and is closely linked to the Pittsworth State High School Agricultural Department. Our animals have won many Grand Champion Ribbons for bulls, cows and heifers, we have also won several Grand Champion carcass competitions with Lowline Cross cattle. We have semen available from our stud animals which is licenced in Australia, New Zealand, USA and Canada |
Sensible SizesLowlines are typically 50—60% of the size of your average beef cattle. They are perfectly proportioned, genetically pure. Derived from the Angus, their petite size allows for ultra light birth weights giving lowline cows super calfing ease. A Lowline calf may weigh any where between 14kg to 25kg. Easy HandlingLowlines compact stature and docile temperament make them easy for all members of the family to handle and enjoy. They’re very manageable requiring very little time, effort or expertise also there is no need for expensive fencing or heavy equipment associated with larger cattle. |
Practical PerformersThe Lowlines are a low maintenance, cost efficient cattle that can generate greater profits per acre. Due to their low feed requirements they are remarkably self sufficient and also more “ecologically friendly” than larger animals that damage pastures and fences: |
